Custom Car Show

Saturday afternoon-evening we attended the annual Midnight Mass Ratrod car show at Cal Expo in Sacramento.  This year it was held at Cal Expo in a large parking lot.  Last year the show was held at a hotel in Sacramento, this Cal Expo lot probably was able to have a lot more cars entered in the show.

Ratrod car shows are mostly “Works in Progress” type of cars.  They are in various stages of restoration.  The only requirement in this show is that you drive your own vehicle there, it must be driven not trailered to the show.

I’ll post some of the photos I took but there were so many cars I didn’t get photos of them all.

Our son entered his 1950 (possibly a 1951) Mercury.  He called after he got the car home to tell us he came home with a first place trophy in the “Jive Bomb” category. ;)

Here’s a few shots of other entries in the show.  There were hundreds of cars and people gathered for the show.

Now why it’s named the Midnight Mass Car Show I have no idea. I guess if you attend you have completed your obligation for Sunday Mass. :)
