My daughter moved her young colts over to our place. She had been keeping them over at our friend’s barn where she’s worked for years. It was easier for her to have them there since she was often at that barn working with our friend’s horses too.
Now that she’s ready to begin her career as a nurse, she won’t have as much time for the young horses and thought it was better if she left them at our place. Of course that meant that she had to move Trouble out. Trouble will be staying at the friend’s barn until a new home is found for her I guess.
The little horses have grown a lot and are already the size of Trouble if not larger. These young male horses are part percheron so they will be large when fully grown. Since Gail had the horses since they were about a month old, they’ve become quite accustomed to people and are very friendly.
Dakota is the brown and white pinto who’s most adventurous although they hardly make a move without the other.
Blue is a blue roan hence the name, Blue.
Those photos were taken the day they arrived on our property. We’ve kept them in the upper pasture until the other day when Dakota was found down in the lower pasture. She must have either jumped the fence or smashed it down enough to walk over it. My husband opened the gate giving both horses access to both pastures and they’re quite happy here.
