Replacement Digital Camera

I’ve had several digital cameras over the years.  I still have at least five working digital cameras but my very favorite digital camera, the Canon S5 IS, had broken just as I arrived in Hawaii.  I quickly bought a replacement from Ritz Camera while there, you can’t be in Hawaii and not take photos.

The camera I bought was also a Canon camera, this time it was the Canon Powershot SD 1100 IS.  It’s one of those little Elph cameras.  It works fine and I’ve been using it since but I missed my Canon Powershot S5 IS.  It took incredible photos and has a 12X zoom.  My other digital cameras only zoom 3 or 4 times which is fine but there are many times you want to zoom in even tighter.

When it broke (the lense refused to open) I contacted Canon because it was still under warranty.  Canon was very nice but they couldn’t repair it.  When they sent it back they said the cost of repair was too high and the damage done was due to liquid damage. *sad face*  Now you know it’s not wise to spill a soda while holding a digital camera.

I’ve been checking prices almost daily and finally found it on sale!  Yesterday I went over to Circuit City and picked up a brand spanking new Canon Powershot S5 IS! :)   Thank goodness for their Dad’s and Grad’s sale!  The camera was a whopping $40 off (this week only) and with what I saved I also bought a new 4GB SD card to add to my collection of photo storage cards.

Yes, I have larger digital cameras like the Canon Digital Rebel but when moving about, this camera is lighter and easier to tote with me.  I’m still quite a fan of Canon cameras and I will always buy and trust the quality of their cameras.

I love this camera. The world is right again! :)
