Well today and tomorrow will be pretty busy for me. I’ll have to make another visit to the grocery store today for those things I didn’t get last Sunday. You know, the important party things like beer, ice and chip dip. 
Tomorrow will be my big cleaning day. I’ve put off mopping the floors, there’s no need to have to do it all over again if I clean too early. I’ve got to dust the tables in the family room as well. Tomorrow will also be a salad making day. I’ve planned make ahead salads like an overnight layered salad. It’s excellent especially when it’s had the time to chill in the refrigerator overnight. I’ll also get the other salad fixings ready.
Oh and I’ve got to prepare my 7-layer bean dip tomorrow too. That will be good for the guests to snack on while they wait for the main course.
I think we’ll probably have at least 20 people here for the party and barbecue. I’m keeping the barbecue simple and fixing hamburgers, hot dogs and pork spare ribs. I’ve already made the hamburger patties, they’re sitting on a tray in the freezer. I don’t want to have to do any of the prep work the day of the party. I’ll just start barbecuing around noon or one o’clock and put the food on the table in the dining room for people to come in and fill their plates. We’ll have tables set up outside for eating and visiting.
I like these big yet simple parties. :) We haven’t had a big party in a long time. I usually do the holiday dinners but in the last couple of years other family members have taken them over. I miss the big gatherings.
