Well the big day is over and I must say birthdays are getting better. I used to dread my birthdays, not because I was getting older but because my birthday seemed often forgotten.
While I had always reminded the kids of my husband’s upcoming birthday, he never did the same for me and my day was often forgotten. Now that the kids are older, they remember on their own and it’s enjoyable again.
We went out to dinner with all the kids and the food was good, and being with the family is always fun.
Joel and his girlfriend Randi gave me a very pretty orchid plant. Hopefully I can keep this one alive this time. Brian went in with Gail and Derek on their gift to me. They all gave me three planter pots, a large hanging planter, four gardening gloves and over 200 flowering bulbs to plant! Holy crap, it’s going to take forever for me to plant all those bulbs! Not only will the planting take a long time but finding good locations to plant all those bulbs. The bulbs are Asiatic lilies, tigridia lilies, and freesias.
Look, there’s even four different pairs of gardening gloves! I can be stylin’ while planting.
My daughter said that they wanted to keep me busy. Isn’t it nice they watch out for me? Now I have a little more to do in my retirement years.
Now where am I going to plant all those lovelies? I think I’ll have to enlist my husband’s help to run some extra water lines. Most of the open areas where I could plant are still not being irrigated or the lines need repairing for the water to reach them. My husband does keep the pasture well irrigated but he’s not as interested in my flowers and garden.
I’ll run out today and pick up some more potting soil. Those pots are huge!

You should get plenty of nice large plants in those planters, although I’m glad I’m not the one having to try and fill them with compost
With all that lot to plant we should see you back at the computer in about a month

Yep, this is going to take time. I got a good start on the planting today though.
