It’s official, today I’m 59 years old and proud of it! The years just seem to flow in and out and I’m still here and still not grown up! Hopefully I can continue to be forever young.
We’ll be going out to dinner with the kids this evening. They’ve chosen an Italian restaurant that’s in our little town. Normally I avoid Italian restaurants, not because the food is bad but because no one cooks like mom, grandma and me! I’m probably overly critical of what’s presented as Italian food but I do know what I like. I’m sure it’s a nice place and the food will be good. Plus, we’ll be with all the kids and their others, we’ll have a good time. Who knows, I might even score some gifts.
Other than the birthday dinner, the day will be a normal day. I saw some things I want to run out and pick up today and I also got a $10 gift coupon from True Value Hardware because of our rewards card. I’m sure I can find something to spend that on for the garden.
Weather-wise it’s still pretty chilly here in Northern California with 62 degree days and 36 degree overnight temperatures. Too cool for me but things should warm up soon. It rained the other day so at least March wasn’t a totally dry month. I knew as soon as the major winter rains stopped the forecasters would start talking drought again. Hell, we had a good amount of rain over the winter and a great snowpack in mountains. Most of the water is produced from that snowpack. We’re far from a drought.
