This and that…

Oh no! It looks like a rambling post! LOL

Things are going alright here.  The rains and winds have stopped for now.  I don’t think the truly awful weather will return this year.  We’re on track for spring and warmer days ahead. :)

In fact, it’s supposed to reach 65 degrees today and stay in the 60’s for a week or more.  More is fine with me. :)

We’ve been stuck in the house so long that my husband has been paying a lot of attention to the cats.  He’s taught two of them to jump in his lap on command.  That’s a big thing for our cats and cats in general.  Cats only do what they want to do and don’t like to follow orders.

With yesterday being the first nice and sunny day in a long time my husband was happy to be able to go outside and work on the clean-up of the downed trees.  His piles of cut trees has grown a lot.

Yesterday my husband cut down the tree that did the most damage here.  My husband had told the tree cutting crew to leave the main trunk and he’d take it down later.  With his new chainsaw the work is easier and we’ve saved money by my husband cutting the remaining tree trunk ourselves.

I went out a few times to check on him and each time I’d pull a few more weeds in the garden.

The last time I was out while my husband was sawing away he was nearly through the large tree and ready to let it fall.  He did pretty good in his aim of the tree to fall in the right direction.

My husband had one of our trucks in the pasture and when he’d get a large section cut he’d use the truck to pull it away from the fence. Just when he had the final piece of the tree down our son Brian came home and helped securing the tow rope to the tree and then helped in rolling the big log to the side.  Thank goodness I didn’t have to help with that!

Come daylight I’ll go out there and get a picture or two of the cut tree.  Pictures I can do, heavy lifting is out. :)

I went to the dentist yesterday to have my front teeth filled.  I had noticed over the last few months that my front teeth were rough on the backside and I thought they were probably chipped.  The dentist said they were and set up an appointment to have the work done.

It was pretty easy and I didn’t even need an anesthetic! That works for me. :)   The doctor painted a solution on my teeth to fill the chips.  It was like putting bondo on my teeth and you can’t see anything visible that work was done.

Today I have to go back to have my teeth cleaned. I haven’t  had that done in a long time because with my considering retirement I didn’t want to use any sick days to go to the dentist. Now I can get back on a regular dental check-up and cleaning schedule.

Well there’s more to ramble on about but I’ll save it for the next time.

  1. Looks like the winds have moved over our way after they passed you. Would you keep the next lot please, our birds are getting quite put out that they can’t sit in the house and eat in peace!

Sounds like the dentist uses the same stuff I have on my teeth, it’s great stuff, fills in all the uneven surfaces nicely!
