We’ve hit a cold spell here. Even with the fire buring day and night I’m still cold. For those of you on the east coast I know it’s much worse there but it’s still pretty cold here! The cold weather isn’t new, it’s always cold this time of year. In fact January is the coldest month and the month with the most rain so I’ve got to endure this for a month and we haven’t left December yet!
If you can stand one more photo I thought I’d post the group shot of the family on Christmas day. I had my camera out all day but didn’t get any pictures. When I mentioned that to Brian he set my camera up for me for the timed shot.
From left to right starting with the front row we have daughter Gail, Joan, son Brian (notice how Gail and Brian scrunched down so as not to block the back row, I didn’t have to scrunch). Directly behind Brian are my husband’s parents. In the back row we have Randi (Joel’s girlfriend), Joel, Mr. Blu, Derek (Gail’s husband) and Derek’s dad (with the spot on his head). The only one missing from the picture is Kim (Brian’s girlfriend). She spent the day with her grandmother in Suisun.
When I told my mother-in-law we were going to take a group photo she ran into the room and in front of the camera. I had to pull her back to place her in the right area. For heaven’s sake, you don’t stand right in front of the lens for a picture! She’s forgiven, it’s just one more of her little aging quirks.
Brian and Kim gave me three sets of flowering bulbs to plant in my garden. I guess I’ll put on a jacket and see if I can get them in the ground so they’ll bloom for spring. Since there’s another rainstorm moving in I had better get the bulbs in the ground today while it’s dry.
I also want to go over to Best Buy and Border’s Books to see if I can spend some of my Christmas money. I might as well get one of the GPS devices for myself and I want a gardening book as well.
