Yesterday morning I drove into town in search of a tree. The first place I went was where I bought my tree last year. Rite Aid always has nice trees and at a reasonable price. I looked over all the trees, some were too tall, some too skinny, some had the top a little too crooked for placing the Christmas star. I found one that was just right up against the window and behind the other trees. I think it was hiding until I came to pick it out. 
I went inside and paid for the tree and asked if there was someone who could put it in the car for me. Last year they assigned this woman who was about my size to load the tree in the car. I remember I had to help her. This year the manager happened to be outside sweeping the debris from the trees that had fallen on the ground and the nice gentleman helped me put the tree in the car (I have a Jeep Cherokee). He even put it in so the wide end was at the back making it easier for me to unload.
When I got home I pulled the little tree out of the car and set it in front of the garage. Spunky appeared right away to check it out.
My husband came home in the afternoon, earlier than he expected to be home and he cut the bottom of the trunk and put the tree in the tree stand and brought it inside for me.
Guess who’s right there checking the tree out again? Good ol’ Spunky. It looks like I’m going to have help in decorating the tree after all. Well she’ll probably do more undecorating than decorating.
I’ll get the lights strung on the tree in a little while and then add the ornaments. I was broughing down all the ornaments when my husband came home. They are all ready and waiting to be used now.
It will begin to look a lot more like Christmas once the tree is decorated. It seems every year the room seems smaller when I add a Christmas tree. I’ve a few extra pieces I’d like to set up like a little trolley train I got from my brother’s hobby store after he died and a little village with fiber optic lights I want to set up but I have to rearrange a little to be sure there’s room for those things.
This should keep me busy for a few hours today. I’ve got to take care of my naked Christmas tree!
