One more night until the spooks and goblins come out! While we haven’t had any trick-or-treaters for several years, this year I think we just might have a couple of munchkins come by.
This year there’s a couple of new children in the area, I’ve even seen one of them in his Halloween costume out front of his house as I drive by on the way to my house. I picked up Halloween candy at the grocery store so I’m prepared. Well I get Halloween candy every year just in case but we always end up eating it. We’ll still have a lot left over but it’s better to be prepared! Of course I only buy candies we like.
We live out in the country and when our children were small we’d drive them up the hill in to the next town where there’s subdivisions. It was fun for the kids to walk house to house. Up here the homes are on two to five acre parcels and going house to house is damn tiring! The two little kids are excited about Halloween and I do hope they come by our house. It’s been years since we’ve had a Halloween trick-or-treater at the door!
I’ve already started dinner for tonight, aren’t you proud of me? I’ve put a roast into my slow-cooker and it will be juicy and tender by dinner time this evening. One of the plusses of using a slow-cooker is that the aroma wafts through the house all day long.
Now that barbecue season is getting away from us, I’ll be using the slow-cooker more often. I get a little more creative with winter meals.
Well I’m off to see if I can do something productive around here like clean the house. Yuck! It needs it though.
Have a great day!
