Of course I’ve had to play a bit with the new Canon PowerShot S5 IS camera. Don’t you love how I always use the full camera name? Anyway, I’ve taken a few practice pictures with it. I’d already deleted the first three shots, I wanted to make room for the travel pictures to be taken next week. Now I’m wishing I had just left them on the memory disk so I could show those too. I mean, the 2 GB disk has room for 950 photos!
My Fanfare Blanket flower is still producing some pretty blooms so it was the subject for a close up photo. I’ve resized it of course so I could post it.
The camera makes it’s own adjustments when you zoom in on a subject. I think I’m going to like this new toy of mine. 
This morning I’ve already been running the color printer. My son Brian has figured out ways to put his CAD drawings in pdf files and then likes to have them printed on photo paper so he can add them to his portfolio to show potential customers his work. They come out extremely nice.
Brian is just finishing up his latest job. He’s been building a 1500 sq. ft. deck for a client. It’s turned out just beautiful. I’ll have to get a photo from him so I can show it off too.
Speaking of Brian, he really likes my new Canon. He’ll probably buy one himself. He always likes to take pictures of his work. It is helpful when he’s courting a new client who wants something similar. Brian will borrow my camera to get some of his pictures but he too has a 4 MP Canon he uses. We gave Brian and Gail the same Canon digital cameras for Christmas the year before last.
I gave our other son Joel another digital HP camera I had that I had gotten through work. I had two of the HP 735 cameras plus my other cameras so I gave Joel the extra HP camera. He doesn’t have a computer yet so we didn’t buy him a digital camera when we got the others. Joel’s girlfriend has a computer though so she can get any photos he’s taken off the digital camera.
I’m on the lookout for a camera case for my new Canon. I saw a couple yesterday but they aren’t exactly what I’d like. I’ll search a little more over the weekend and if nothing comes up I’ll get one that I saw at Target.
