When I got home from dinner last night Nebo was still here. I guess my son-in-law did call and asked my husband if he could stay another night. Well…Nebo met Mr. Skunk while he was out this morning. Poor Nebo, I had to make him stay in the garage until a decent hour after I got up and showered. I just gave him a bath outside. He seems less stinky so I’ve allowed him in. It’s not the way I like to start the day!
Dinner was last night with the girls was fun, it’s always fun to see those girls, I think we’ll be getting together more often now. :) As for a trip, I think it’s settled that we’ll just go to San Francisco for the day. You can take the ferry over from Suisuin, Brian just did that last weekend. Sounds good to me!
One of the girls lives in Idaho. She’s been there with her family to care for her dad who’s aging. She and her sister and brother had joined forces to make it easier on everyone. A couple of weeks ago, her brother died suddenly. What a shock to everyone! As if that isn’t enough, her husband had a spinal cord injury a few years ago and Kathy has to do everything. Kathy’s husband was paralyzed for awhile but he’s a bit more mobile now. He can walk “on a good day” with a cane, but mostly he’s helpless. The poor girl has such a wonderful sense of humor and that hasn’t been lost. :) She was telling us last night that laughter just helps her get through the days. She’s sad she’s missing this time in her life that should be spent enjoying the golden years. Her and her husband almost divorced once, he was an alcholic and it really was the only way to make him see what he’s done. He did quit drinking and things seemed alright until his accident.
Count your blessings everyday, you never know when changes will happen to destroy your life and dreams.
